ఈ పుస్తకంతో ప్రేమలో పడ్డా. ప్రేమలో అంటే ఆలా ఇలా కాదు, రాధా కి కృష్ణ ప్రేమ లా.

ఎం చెప్పాలి ఈ అమరావతి కథలు పుస్తకం గురించి. ఇన్ని రోజుల తర్వాత చదివినందుకు బాధ పడ్డ ఇప్పటికైనా చదివినందుకు ఆనందం. నాకు నేనే చేసుకున్న గొప్ప ఉపకారం.

కొన్ని నవ్విస్తాయి, కొన్ని కవ్విస్తాయ్, కొన్ని ఏడిపిస్తాయి. అద్దం ముందు నిల్చోబెట్టి ఇదిగో ఇది నువ్వు ఇదే నువ్వు అని చూపించినట్టు ఉంటాయి. మనసుని పిండేసేవి కొన్ని, తేలిక చేసేవి కొన్ని.  మన చుట్టూ జరిగేవే, మనలో జరిగేవే అన్ని. ఒక్కో కథలో మంచి వాక్యాలన్నీ రాద్దామని పెన్ను పుస్తకం తీస్కొని చదవడం మొదలెట్టానా, మళ్ళి కథంతా రాయడం ఎందుకని ఓ కథ తర్వాత ఆపేసా. పేరు అమరావతి కథలైనా ఇవి తెలుగువాడి కథలు, తెలుగు వాళ్ళు గర్వాంగా ఇవిగో ఇవి మా కథలు అని చెప్పుకునే కథలు.
రెండు గంగలు కథలో వర్షపు వర్ణణ ఇలా - సిగ్గుతో నవ్వినప్పుడు బుగ్గ మీద సొట్టలు చినుకు పడ్డ చోట చిన్న గుంట అంతలో ఆ గుంట మాయం. వర్షం లో కృష్ణ కలుస్తుంటే, కృష్ణ లో వర్షం కలుస్తుంటే వర్షం లో తానూ కలిసిపోయి చేతులు విప్పార్చి హాయిగా తడుస్తుంది. ఆకాశగంగ పనికట్టుకొని ఈ నెల తల్లి ని చల్లగా కౌగిలించుకుంటుంటే ఈ మనిషన్నవాడెవడు గొడుగు అడ్డం పెట్టనికి.  కృష్ణాలో పడుతున్న వర్షాన్ని కళ్ళముందు నిలిపాడు మహానుభావుడు. ఏంటి గొప్ప వర్ణన. 
  ఒక రోజెల్లి పోయింది లో - పిచ్చయ్య గారు ఏవి సాధించలేదు తగాదాలు తీర్చలేదు, సమస్యలు చర్చించలేదు కానీ కాలనీ తెలీకుండా కాలంలో కలిసిపోయి బతికారు అది చాలదా? చాలడం లేదు చాల మందికి. ఆ చివరి వాక్యం చాలదు జీవితాన్ని సరిగ్గా జీవించడానికి.
వరద కథ లో - ఎన్ని వరదలొచ్చినా మనిషి మనసుని కడగా లేకపోతున్నాయి. సమాజాన్ని నగ్నంగా కళ్ళ ముందు ఉంచినట్టు లేదు. 
ఇలా ఎన్నో ఒక్కో కథ ఒక్కో ఆణిముత్యం, చదివిన వాళ్ళకి చదివినంత. 

ఆకలి మహాప్రభో

    Traffic మూలంగా 6 కి రావల్సిన వాడిని 8 అయిపొయింది, ఇంటికి వచ్చాక వండుకుందాం  అని చూస్తే నిన్న కడగకుండా ఉన్న గిన్నెలు ప్లేట్ ఎక్కిరిస్తూ కనిపించాయి. సర్లే ఇప్పుడు కడిగి వండి తినేలోపు లేట్ అయిపోతుందని డిసైడ్ అయిపోయి ఆన్లైన్ లో ఆర్డర్ చేద్దామని swiggy.com ఓపెన్ చేశా (నేనుండే ఏరియా లో ఫుడ్ డెలివరీ app ఈ మద్యే కొత్తగా మొదలైంది). దేగ్గర్లో ఉన్న restaurant అయితే త్వరగా తెస్తాడు అని డిసైడ్ అయి ఓ 1 km దేగ్గర్లో లో ఉన్న restaurant  choose చేస్కొని బాగా తొందరగా తయారయ్యే వాటిని ఆర్డర్ చేసి వెయిట్ చెస్తున్న. ఇంతలో ఫోన్ లో మెసేజ్ "your  order will  be delivered ఇన్ 30 mins" అని. పక్కనే ఉంది కదా పోనీ పోయి తెచుకుందాం అనుకున్న బండి లో petrol లేదన్న విషయం గుర్తొచ్చి వంటికి నీరసం వచేసింది. పోన్లే ఒక 20 mins తర్వాత కాల్ చేసి రెమింద్ చేద్దాం తొందరగా తెచేస్తాడు అని laptop లో సినిమా చూడటం మొదలెట్టా lap కాలాక కాని తెలిలేదు ఫుడ్ ఆర్డర్ చేసి 45 నిమిషాల పైనే అయిందని వెంటనే ఫోన్ చేస్తే delivery బాయ్restaurant దెగ్గరే ఉన్న సర్ ఆర్డర్ ఇంకా రెడీ అవలేదు అని కన్నడ లో చెప్పాడు సర్లే ఒక 10 mins లో తీస్కు రా అని నాకు వచ్చిన కన్నడ లో చెప్పి ఫోన్ పెట్టెసా. మళ్ళి మూవీ లో లీనమయ్య lap మళ్ళి కాలింది టైం చూస్తే లాస్ట్ టైం ఫోన్ చేసి ఆల్రెడీ 20 mins అయింది, ఎక్కడలేని కోపంతో తిట్టేద్దామని ఫోన్ చేశా డెలివరీ బాయ్ కి తనకి ఇంగ్లీష్ లో మాట్లాడితే అర్ధం కాట్లేదు, నాకు కన్నడ లో తిట్లు రావు. చివరికి ఎలాగో నా బాధ మాత్రం చెప్పి ఇంకో 10 mins లో ఫుడ్ రాకపోతే బాగోదని deadly వార్నింగ్ ఇచి ఫోన్ పెట్టేసా మళ్ళి లాప్ కాల్చుకోడం కష్టం గా అనిపించి సినిమా చూట్టం ఆపేసి గడియారం వైపు చూస్తూ 10 నిమిషాలని 10 యుగాలుగా గడిపేసా, 10 యుగాల తర్వాత కూడా డెలివరీ బాయ్ జాడ లేదు. ఇలా కాదని swiggy కస్టమర్ కేర్ కి ఫోన్ చేశా complaint చేద్దామని. yeah సరిగ్గా ఉహించినట్టె నాతొ ఒకటి నుంచి పది వరకు అంకెలన్నీ నొక్కించి, ఓ పది నిమిషాల తర్వాత ఓ కమ్మనైన స్వరం హలో అంది, హమ్మయ్య మాట్లాడానికి మనిషి, ఆది ఆడ మనిషి అంత అందమైన గొంతుతో "హాయ్ సర్ స్వాతి here am  i  talking తో ranjith?" నా పేరు తను పలికేప్పటికి ఆనందం తో కన్నీళ్ళు కారుస్తూ ఎం మాట్లాడాలో మర్చిపోయి అలా ఉండిపోయిన నాతో తను  "ప్లీజ్ let me know how may i help now?" అంది, కొంచెం స్పృహ లోకొచ్చి  మాట్లాడేలోపు బీప్ బీప్ బీప్ శబ్దం తో ఫోన్ కట్ అయింది ఏంటి విపరీతం అని మళ్ళి డయల్ చేస్తే ఇప్పుడింకో ఆడ గొంతు "నీ ఫోన్ లో బాలన్స్ అయిపొయింది చూసుకోరా వెధవ" అని కొంచెం గౌరవంగా చెప్పింది అన్ని ఆడ గొంతులు మనకు కావలసినట్టు తియ్యగా ఉండవని తెలుసుకొని ఫోన్ recharge చేసేలోపే కాల్ ఒక తెలియని నెంబర్ నుంచి, swiggy నుంచే అని ఆనందం తో కాల్ ఎత్తితే, ఫోన్ swiggy నుంచే కాని ఈసారి మగగొంతు, నాలోని అపఅపరిచితున్ని నిద్రలేపి ఆర్డర్ ఇంకా రాలేదు అని బాగా తిట్టి ఫోన్ పెట్టి ఓ litre మంచి నీళ్ళతో ఆకలి వేడిని చల్లార్చా ఇంతలో ఇంకో కాల్ సర్ మీ అడ్రస్ తప్పు ఇచ్చారు అని ఈసారి delivery బాయ్, బాబు కి నాకొచ్చిన కన్నడ లో అడ్రస్ చెప్పా వాడు వాడికి అర్ధమైన అడ్రస్ కి వెళ్లి మళ్ళి కాల్ సర్ డోర్ ఓపెన్ చేయండి సర్ అని అబ్బా ఎట్టకేలకు సాదించా అని డోర్ ఓపెన్ చేసి చుస్తే పక్కింటి కుక్కపిల్ల వాడి ఓనర్ తో ఆడుతుంది. ఇంట్లో మారిన కొత్తలో కుక్కలంటే బయముండేది కాని కుక్క ఓనర్ తో మాట్లాడాక కుక్కని చూసినపుడు దైర్యం వాడ్ని చుస్తే బయం కలిగేవి ఇప్పుడీ కుక్క నుంచి తప్పించుకోడం ఎలాగా అని ముందసలు డెలివరీ boy ఎక్కడ అని చూస్తుండగా నా ఫోన్ మళ్లి మోగింది, సర్ ఇంట్లో మేడం ఉన్నారు ఆర్డర్ చేయలేదు అని చెప్తున్నారు సర్ మేడం తో మాట్లాడండి అని నేను చెప్పేది విన్పించుకోకో , విన్నా అర్ధం కాకో ఎవరో అమ్మాయి కి ఫోన్ ఇచ్చాడు. ఆల్రెడీ రెండు గంటల నుండి తిండి కోసం ఎదురుచూస్తూ ఉన్న నేను ఆడ గొంతా, మొగ గొంతా అని ఆలోచించెంత ఓపిక లేక మాములుగా ఆ ఆడగొంతు తో మాట్లాడి బాబు వేరే అడ్రస్ కి వెళ్ళాడని అర్దమై ఫోన్ బాయ్ కి ఇమ్మని ఈసారి ఇంకా క్లియర్ గా కన్నడ లో అడ్రస్ చెప్పెసా. ఎందుకైనా మంచిదని వాడ్ని ఫోన్ లో లైన్ లోనే ఉండమని వచ్చే దార్లో ఏమేమి కనిపిస్తున్నాయో చెప్పు అన్నా వాడు ఒక నిమిషం అలోచించి సర్ ఫోన్ లో బాలన్స్ అయిపోద్ది సర్ అన్నాడు, ఆల్రెడీ కోమా కి జానడు దూరం లో ఉన్న నేను వాడితో వాదించే ఓపిక లేక నా ఫోన్ రీఛార్జి చేద్దాం అని, ఆ పని పూర్తీ చేశా. వెంటనే బాబు కి ఫోన్ చేసి ఎక్కడ ఉన్నదో కనుక్కున్నా. వెంటనే వాడు సర్ మీరు చేసిన ఆర్డర్ కాన్సుల్ చేసారంట సర్ అన్నడు. ఆర్డర్ కాన్సుల్ చేయడమేంటి ఎవరా కూత కూసింది అన్నా, సర్ మెసేజ్ వచ్చింది సర్ నాకు మీ మొబైల్ కూడా వచ్చిఉంటది చుడండి సర్ అన్నాడు. ఈ హడావిడి లో నాకో మెసేజ్ వచ్చిన విషయం గమనించ లేదు చుస్తే " order got cancelled as you gave wrong address" అని ఉంది, కోపం నాశలనికంటే కొంచెం పైకే అంటింది ఇలా కాదని మళ్ళి కస్టమర్ కేర్ కి కాల్ చేద్దామని కాల్ చేశా ఈసారి ఈ గొంతైనా రెచ్చిపోవాలని ముందే అనుకుని నెంబర్లన్ని నొక్కి "హాయ్ సర్ స్వాతి here am  i  talking తో ranjith?" స్వరం విని కాల్ చేసింది నేనే అని చెప్పాక  "ప్లీజ్ let me know how may i help now?" అంది, స్టొరీ మొత్తం ఒక పావుగంట విన్న తర్వాత "let me check sir please be patient for 10mins" అని అర్ధం పర్దం లేని music ఏదో పెట్టి ఒక 10mins తర్వాత చావుకబురు చల్లగా చెప్పింది సర్ మీరిచ్చిన అడ్రస్ కి వెళ్ళిన boy తప్పు అడ్రస్ సిచారు అని చెప్పాడు అందుకే order cancel అయింది అని. ఏమి మాట్లాడాలో తేలిక ఆర్డర్ రెడీ గా ఉంది కదా నేను అడ్రస్ చెప్తాను వచ్చి ఇచ్చేయమన్నా దానికి తను "we cannot do that sir as your order stands cancelled" అని ఫోన్ పెట్టేసింది నేను తర్వాత ఎం చెప్తానో కూడా వినకుండా.  ఇంకా దెబ్బలాడే ఓపిక లేక, ఫోన్ బిల్ కి బయపడి బయటికెళ్ళి తినేసి వద్దాం అని బయటికొచ్చి లిఫ్ట్ బటన్ ప్రెస్ చేసి చూస్తున్నా ఎంతకీ పైకి రాదే ఇంతలో కింద నుంచి watchman కేక sir లిఫ్ట్ పనిచేయట్లేదు అని. ఏమి చేయాలో తేల్చుకోలేక అక్కడే నిలబడి దిక్కులు చూస్తున్న నాకు కింద నుంచి రొప్పుతూ పైకొస్తున్న ఓ వ్యక్తి ఎదురొచ్చి నా ఫ్లాట్ వైపు నడుస్తున్నాడు. ఎవడా అని చుస్తే delivery boy. వెంటనే వెళ్ళి almost పార్సెల్ గుంజుకున్నంత పని చేసి డబ్బులిచ్చా. బాయ్ ని చూడగానే అప్పటి వరకు ఉన్న కోపమంతా మాయమైపోయింది షర్టు అంతా చెమటతో రొప్పుతూ 4 అంతస్తులు ఎక్కి వచాడు పాపం. జాలితో అప్పటివరకూ నేను తింటున్న biscuit ప్యాకెట్ లోనుంచి ఓ రెండు biscuits,తాగడానికి మంచి నీళ్ళు  ఇచ్చి ఎం జరిగింది అని అడిగా అప్పుడు తెలిసింది పక్క వీధిలో మా అపార్ట్ మెంట్ పెరుతోనే ఇంకో అపార్ట్ మెంట్ ఉందట అక్కడికెళ్ళి వస్తున్నాడట అందుకే లేట్ అయింది అన్నాడు. ఇందాకా ఆర్డర్ కాన్సుల్ అన్నావు కదా ఇప్పుడు ఎలా తెచావ్ అన్నా, మీతో మాట్లాడుతుంటే ఆకలిగా ఉన్నారనిపించింది సర్ అందుకే మళ్ళి వెతుకుదాం అని వచ్చా సర్ ఈ సరి దొరికింది అన్నాడు. ఎం మాట్లాడాలో అర్ధం కాలేదు ఒక్క క్షణం వెంటనే ఇంట్లో కి పిలిచి ఆర్డర్ చేసిన ఫుడ్ ని పంచుకుందాం అన్నా ముందు మొహమాటం తో వద్దు అన్నా, బాగా అలిసిపోయి ఉన్నాడేమో వెంటనే సరే అనేసి మొహమాటం గానే కొంచెం తినేసి వెళ్ళిపోయాడు, నా కడుపు నిండలేదు కాని హాయిగా నిద్రపోయా.     

RaGa saga

Written this blog post after watching Rahuls interview on Times Now on 28th Jan.

Rahul, a scientist in Dr. Reddy's Laboratories  was the poster boy in his office on 5th Feb, as he has invented a new drug antinonse which controls people  from speaking nonsense. When contacted to comment on his new invention Rahul declined to speak to our xyz now news channel and he complained we are the one who should be using the medicine first. We contacted his dearest friend vijay and could find out the details, Vijay went on to say that we are the ones behind the invention of the drug, as always we are excited to know this (of course we are excited most of the times for nothing and you can understand our excitement on knowing this). Vijay went on to add that, he knows Rahul from his childhood and they are like cheddy buddies, and he said "From childhood Rahul used to feel bad about his name as there is no national leader/ sports person with name Rahul, but once after Rahul Dravid made his debut in international cricket in 1996 from then on he felt proud as Dravid was regarded as one of the best batsman ever produced in India and he stood for sincerity, ethics and integrity throughout his career as a cricketer and people used to identify with him. Recently for the past 4 years however he again started feeling bad again and i being his close friend asked him the reason and the reason he told me moved me to tears and he said people started talking about  Rahul Dravids retirement and every body around him started identifying him with Rahul Gandhi as he was projected as next PM of India. He used to feel so bad about it and spent so many sleepless nights thinking about how he can be happy and stop people making fun of him by calling him Rahul Gandhi, then he got this idea of joining  a drug company and make some medicines which make people more intelligent than they actually are and make RaGa have couple of those pills. He joined Dr. Reddy's Laboratories as junior scientist and started his research. He actually invented couple of medicines and tried them on his boss as his level of intelligence almost matches with that of RaGa (which on a IQ scale is between 0-0.5) but the medicine failed as his boss showed no improvement after consuming his drug, it took almost 4 years for making this drug but all his efforts went in vain  and on 28th Jan Rahul watched the interview aired on  your xyz now channel with RaGa  as it was projected as the biggest interview of the year and he tried to commit suicide for the obvious reason that people will tease him from the next day by calling him RaGa. I went to his house right after the interview assuming he will be devastated watching the onslaught your news anchor has created.As expected he was crying at the top of his voice and started abusing everyone and everything around him and suddenly went inside the bedroom,  i waited for him for couple of minutes in the guest room and got suspicious as he didn't comeback for 5 mins, when i went and saw he took the extreme decision of committing suicide and tried to cut his throat with a scalpel, i broke open the door and consoled him and told him the option to change his name to say Netaji/Lal bahadur shastri/ Vallabhai Patel or to more latest Vajpayee/Narsimha rao  but he didn't accept that then i talked to him about his recent invention, which he said is waste of time as it didn't improve our bosses intelligence, then i told him about my observation over the past week that our boss is making some sense when he speaks which was unlike him as he used to speak non-sense most the time, suddenly he was overwhelmed by happiness and from the very next day we started doing some more research on our boss and could note down the results and after almost a month long dose our boss now talks only 10 min non-sense in an hour which was earlier almost for 50 mins though his intelligence didn't improve much. We are giving the drug to couple of our neighbors making them for our clinical trail, who have similar traits as our boss and the results are encouraging. Then we went to our management and discussed about the drug and its effects and all about our research. Our management was kind enough to consider our reaserch and informed all this to one Diggy  who is allegedly very close to RaGa,knowing this Diggy felt very happy and he took one complete course, as he is the best nonsense speaker ever born in India and the results are encouraging, also RaGa is very happy hearing about the medicine and he could escape from mamma's scolding once and for all once he complete this course." concluded Vijay. When asked to comment both RaGa and Diggy declined to comment.

The drug antinonse will be available from next month once the mass production starts, Dr. Reddy's actually planning to start selling this in retail by opening shops near 10 janpath and 24 Akbar road aswell.

The lowland and The Man Booker Prize

I was eager to know the results of this years Man Booker Prize, because one of the books shortlisted was The Lowland by Jhumpa Lahiri, i was reading when the list was announced. I have not read any of the other books in the list so not sure about any of the other books. But i was hoping that this will win the prize not just because i was reading it but also for the fact that Jhumpa Lahiri is a novelist of Indian origin and part of the book was set in  Kolkata the then Calcutta. But when the results were announced i was feeling sad as this is not the book that won. Now i was sad not just because this book didn't win any prize but previously The white tiger a book by Arvind Adiga won the booker prize for the year 2008.I know its not proper to compare two books which are published in two different years as the books they will be competing with will be different, but somehow felt it would have been good if lowland was declared the winner.

When compared with Aravind's book i liked Lowland much better. In white tiger it was about a rural indian, who kills his master and escapes with the money from Delhi to Bangalore to start his own car renting company. I felt that book shows Indians in a bad light, neither all Indians want to kill their bosses nor they want to be rich overnight, i thought Aravind missed to portray the other side of India, where  hard working people and people who are loyal to their bosses stay. My other complaint was that books or movies which show Indians in bad light are a big hit with west, be it white tiger or the movie slumdog millionaire.

On the other hand the lowland was a good book, its story of two brother Subash and Udayan. Though   Udayan is younger by a year, they join the school same year and share some common interests. Udayan is more intelligent among the both and he gets motivated with the naxalbari movement, joins the movement. Subash don't want to join him and goes to US for further studies. Udayan unable to fill the vacuum created by Subash friends with a girl Gauri. Gauri is Udayan's  friends sister, whose friendship with him turns to love and eventually end up in marrying Udayan. In the turn of events Udayan gets killed by police and Gauri becomes widow. Gauri was pregnant when Udayan passes away.  Hearing about Udayans death Subash returns to India only to find the hardship Gauri is going through and wants to take her to US with him, also wants marry her, to which his parents opposes. Subash marries her and wants to take care of his brothers kid and want to be the kid's father instead of uncle. Gauri continues her studies in US and wants to be on her own. She leaves behind Subash and also the kid she had with Udayan with Subash. The kid, Bela grows up and like his biological father, becomes more interested in things which gives her pleasure than the things which giver her more money. Later she giver birth to a kid Meghana, at which point Subash reveals to Bela that he is not her actual father and but her uncle. Initially unable to digest this fact, she finally learns the hardship Subash has underwent to bring her up, and begins to hate her mother who abandoned her for being alone and for achieving her own ambitions, and this forms the end of the story.I felt sorry for Subash after completing the book, to me he sacrificed his entire life for his brothers kid (though he never felt that Bela is not his kid). The way Gauri behaved leaving behind her own kid and Subash who had the guts to get her to  US and gave a new beginning to her life was a bit harsh  i felt. Being a movie buff i expected a happy ending thinking Bela would unite Gauri and Subash,but i was more convinced at the way Bela behaved in the book than the way i thought she would behave.

May be time for me to read other books in the list and find out why the other ones are better than this, and what impressed the judges to choose the one they selected than this one.

పనిలో చాలా తీరిక లేకుండా ఉన్న నేను ఈ వారంతం లో ఏదైన తెలుగు పుస్తకం చదువుదామని అంతర్జాలం లో వెతుకులాట మొదలెట్టా. వెంటనే నా చిన్నప్పుడు వార్త అనే తెలుగు వార్త పత్రిక ఆదివారం సంచికలో వచ్చే జీవన యానం అనే శీర్షిక, దానిని రాసిన దాశరథి రంగాచార్య గుర్తుకు వచ్చారు. నా చిన్నతనం లో తాతయ్య జీవనయానం శీర్షిక కోసం వారమంతా చూసే వారు. ఆదివారం రాగానే మొదట  దాన్ని చదవడం పూర్తీ చేసి మిగితా పనులు చేసేవారు. దాశరథి రంగాచార్య గారిది ఖమ్మం దెగ్గర్లొ ఒక గ్రామమని, రజాకర్ ఉద్యమంలో పాలుపంచుకున్నారని, వారి అన్న గారైన దాశరథి కృష్ణమాచార్యులు దాశరథి  గా సినీ గేయ రచయతగా చిరపరిచితులని, చిన్నప్పుడే తాతయ్య దెగ్గర విన్న జ్ఞాపకం. జీవనయానం పుస్తకం లో మా వూరి ప్రస్తావన చాలా సార్లు వచ్చింది.  దాశరథి  గారి రచన ఏమైనా దొరుకుతుందేమో అని కినిగే లో వెతిక ఏమి లాభం లేక పోయింది, వెతగ్గా,వెతగ్గా స్క్రిబ్ద్ లో అయన రాసిన చిల్లర దేవుళ్ళు అనే నవల కనిపించింది. 170 పేజి లను ఏకదాటిగా 3 గంటల్లో పూర్తిచేసా. ఆ పుస్తకం గురించి కొన్ని మాటలు.

సారంగపాణి అనే సంగీత విద్వాంసుడు ఉదర పోషకార్దమ్  రెడ్డి గారు అనబడే రామి రెడ్డి అనే ఒక గ్రామా పెద్ద (దేశముఖ్ )   దెగ్గరికి రావడం తో కథ మొదలవుతుంది. నిజాం ప్రభువులు రాజ్యనేలుతున్న కాలమది. దేశ్ముఖ్, కరణం, పటేలు వీరి ఆగడాలకు అంతే లేకుండా పల్లెలని తమ గుప్పిట్లో ఉంచుకొని గ్రామా గ్రామాన వారే పెత్తనం చలాయించే రోజులవి. విజయవాడ నుండి వచ్చిన సారంగపాణి  కి ఈ విషయాలన్నీ కొత్తగా కొంచెం వింతగా అనిపిస్తాయి. రెడ్డి గారి ఇంట్లో వనజ అనే ఒక దాసీ సారంగపాణి కి అన్ని అమర్చి పెట్టేది, ఆ అమ్మాయి అణకువ ని చూసి ఇష్టపడతాడు పాణి. పాణి కరణం ఇంట్లో ఉండే కూతురు తాయారు కి, నారయ్య కూతురు లక్ష్మి కి సంగీతం నేర్పిస్తుంటాడు. రెడ్డి కూతురు మంజరి.మంజరి, తాయారు పాణి ని ఇస్తా పడుతుంటారు.   వనజ కి కూడా పాణి అంటే ఇష్టం ఉంటుంది కాని తనుదాసి, తన ఇష్టం తో ఎవరికీ పని లేదు, చిన్నపడి నుంచి తను అలాగే పెరిగింది, తన అభిప్రాయాలకు విలువ లేకుండా. వనజ తానంటే ప్రేమగా ఉండే పాణి ని ఇష్టపడుతున్నా, అది అన్న-చెల్లి బంధం  అని, తనలాంటి వ్యక్తి పాణి లాంటి మంచి వారికి భార్యనయ్యే అర్హత లేదని పాణి తో చెప్తుంది. ఇది తెలియని మంజరి వనజ మీద ద్వేషం పెంచుకుంటుంది. మరో వైపు తాయారు పాణి ని తనని పెళ్ళి చేసుకోమని లేదంటే ఊరు లోనే లేకుండా చేస్తా అని బెదిరిస్తుంది. తాయారు లో ప్రేమ లేదని, ఆమె వ్యక్తిత్వం కూడా  సరిగా లేదని అనుకుంటాడు పాణి. ఇంతలో మంజరి అరోగ్యం పాడవుతుంది, పాణి ఎక్కడ టానికి దక్కడనే బెంగ తో. ఇదిలా జరుగుతుండగా ఒకానొక హత్యా నేరం నుంచి బయటపడడానికి రెడ్డి, కరణం సాయం కోరతాడు.సాయం చేయాలంటే తన కూతురు తాయారు కి పాణి తో వివాహం జరగాలని కరణం రెడ్డి ని కోరతాడు. పాణి దగ్గర మాట తీసుకొని విషయం చెప్తాడు రెడ్డి, పాణి తనకి తాయారు తో వివాహం  ఇష్టం లేదని అది కాకుండా తన ప్రాణాలైన ఇస్తానంటాడు. దాంతో రెడ్డి పాణి ని ఊరు నుండి వెళ్ళిపో అంటాడు. ఈ విషయాలన్నీ కుదుట పడక రెడ్డి ఆరోగ్యం  దెబ్బతింటుంది, పట్నం తీసుకు వెళ్దాం అని బయలు దేరతారు వనజ, మంజరి, రెడ్డి భార్య అలా చెన్న పట్నం వెళ్ళిన రెడ్డి కుటుంబానికి పాణి ఆశ్రయం కల్పిస్తాడు. చివరగా మంజరి పాణి మరదలని, చిన్నప్పుడు తప్పి పోయిన రెడీ చెల్లెలి కొడుకని తెలిడంతో కథ సుఖాంతం అవుతుంది.
మొత్తం గా చుస్తే అదే కథ కాని రంగాచార్యులు కథలో ఆ సమయం లో తెలంగాణా లో ఉన్న దొరల అరాచకాలు, కరణం లాంటి వాళ్ళు చేసే కబ్జాలు, దాసీ వ్యవస్థ, మాట మార్పిడులు, నిజం పోలీస్ దౌర్జన్యాలు, లంబాడి ప్రజల  కష్టాలు క్లుప్తం గా వివరించారు. 

పాణి హైదరాబాద్ వచ్చిన సందర్భం లో ఆంధ్ర మహా సభ, ఆర్య సమాజ్ గురించిన ప్రస్తావన ఆనాటి స్తితిగతులని వివరించే ప్రయత్నం లా అనిపించింది. ఆనాటి మేధావుల విశాలాంధ్ర  అలోచన, నిజాం రాజ్యం లో పోలీసుల అకృత్యాలు కథలో అంతర్లీనంగా కనిపిస్తాయి. కృష్ణమాచార్యుల యాత్ర స్మృతి చదివినప్పుడు కలిగిన ఒక భావం మాత్రం నాకు కనిపించింది, తెలంగాణా ప్రజల్లో అప్పటికి ఆత్మ న్యూనత భావం ఎక్కువగా ఉండేదని.

మొత్తానికి ఈ వారంతం లో పనితో పాటు ఒక మంచి పుస్తకం చదవడం పూర్తి చేశా (దాని గుర్చిన విశేషాలని ఇక్కడ పొందు పరచడం తో సహా )

Irctc saga

In what turned out to be a bizarre incident  Kartik, a software engineer working in a company called Reluctant Engineering Technologies in Electronic city Bangalore was hospitalized as he was complaining about chest pain. When our reporter went to the Reluctant Engineering technologies to report the BREAKING NEWS, HR of the company was reluctant to speak about the incident and went on to say the company name itself is reluctant technologies and we will be reluctant to do everything leave alone giving interviews to your news channel.

But our reporter who cannot live without bringing at least one breaking news an hour, was behind the doctor who is treating kartik and could find out the reason for his sudden chest pain. The doctor went on to reveal the secret of engineers sudden chest pain, "The symptoms show that the engineer got a sudden shock, which usually happens when you hear any happy news suddenly", the doctor went on to say "The engineers who are living/working in and around the electronic city usually not so used to the emotion of being happy and any trace of happiness makes them vulnerable to these kind of issues."

Our reporter next went on to find the reason for the sudden happiness of the engineer and enquired his colleagues if the company has announced any recent salary hike or any other things, listening to the term salary hike his colleagues started looking for the meaning of the word in Google, from this our reporter concluded that there is no question that they would have got one, and the same thing happened when the reporter asked about holidays, outings, perks, weekends and other related things. This made sure that they are not aware of any of these things and our reporter became curious after this to know the exact reason for the happiness of the  software engineer.

He figured out details after talking to another software engineer who had the I AM ANNA cap, which has become a fashion statement among software engineers after the anna movement, who share the cubical with Kartik, one Raju. Initially reluctant to share the information raju went on to tell the story after he was offered a couple of gift coupons of flipkart, "Today morning the day started like any other day, we both came late to office at 10am and we had a meeting at 9:30am which we missed and our manager became furious about this, and we are not bothered about that as it happens at least once everyday if not twice (both meetings and scolding). we went to our desk and opened facebook, gmail and started chatting this is when the things started becoming worse, kartik suddenly remembered that he was not downloaded and he has parents living in Hyderabad this he came to know this when he was looking at his old pictures in facebook which he has uploaded before he joined Reluctant technologies and in which he tagged his father, mother and siblings and then he started to feel that he will go to Hyderabad to meet them as they may soon forget his existence the way he has almost forgotten them. He got back his memory after looking at those pictures and suddenly opened the IRCTC website to book a ticket to Hyderabad for the coming weekend. After multiple attempts the site got opened and he started feeling happy, the feeling which he didn't experienced in the past 5 years of experience as a software engineer. He filled the details in IRCTC and could see that there are tickets available for a journey from Bangalore to Hyderabad on the coming weekend, he started telling me he could see the tickets available from Bangalore to Hyderabad coming weekend saying these words he suddenly collapsed on ground with his hand on his chest the ambulance was called immediately and he was bought to the hospital." explained Raju.

Our reporter explained the situation to HR head of Reluctant technologies Ms. Remya Krishanamurthi  and asked for her reaction she started saying about the company growth, head count, onsite/offshore employee count and all other details she has. Knowing the details Digvijay singh of congress tweeted "I sense RSS hand behind this conspiracy", and Ravi shankar prasad of BJP is quick to respond saying they demand a CBI enquiry to bring out the truth and the men behind this he also added they will stall the parliament proceedings till the government orders for a CBI enquiry.
